        "content": "<p>REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BOGOR \u2014 The Indonesian National Border Management\nAgency (BNPP) held a coordination forum on facilitating legal issues in\nborder areas, entitled \u201cBNPP Bersoleg (Discussing Legislation)\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The forum, initiated by the Bureau of Law, Organisation, and Human\nResources, serves as a strategic platform for the BNPP to align\nperceptions and strengthen synergy between central and regional\nauthorities in implementing its mandate for border area management.<\/p>\n<p>The event was opened by the BNPP Expert Group, Hamidin, who\nemphasised that border area management has a strong normative basis, as\nstipulated in Law No.\u00a043 of 2008 concerning State Territory,\nparticularly Article 14.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis forum brings together heads of border management agencies from\nprovinces, regencies, and cities across Indonesia, including heads of\ndepartments responsible for border affairs in regional secretariats, as\nwell as heads of Border Crossing Posts (PLBNs),\u201d said Hamidin in a\nwritten statement on Friday (15\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>To date, Indonesia has 18 provinces and 74 regencies\/cities that\nshare direct borders with other countries. According to him, this is the\nfirst time that a coordination meeting involving all Regional Border\nManagement Agencies (BPPDs) has been held nationally.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, we believe it is necessary to align perceptions on the\nvarious issues and obstacles in implementing the mandate of Law No.\u00a043\nof 2008, particularly regarding the establishment and strengthening of\nBPPD institutions in the regions,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
