        "content": "<p>17 bus firms break the rules<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Transport investigators found 19 buses from 17<br>\ncompanies illegally raised or cut fares during the Idul Fitri<br>\nexodus.<\/p>\n<p>A special team deployed by the City Land Transportation<br>\nControl Agency discovered the violations by pretending to be<br>\npassengers.<\/p>\n<p>The agency&apos;s transportation control subdivision head Oriyanto<br>\nSupardal, said investigators recorded the busses&apos; plate numbers,<br>\nthe route, the time of the incident, the special Idul Fitri fare<br>\nand the illegal fare.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Bus companies are not allowed to raise or to cut the fares<br>\nset by the government for Idul Fitri,&quot; Oriyanto said.<\/p>\n<p>The official&apos;s report said two bus companies, Timbul Jaya<br>\nExpress and Sumber Alam, cut the government-set fares.<\/p>\n<p>The 15 other companies illegally raised fares by up to Rp<br>\n13,500 (US$5.60). The companies were Kramatdjati, Mekar Jaya,<br>\nSuka, Dedy Jaya, Bhinneka, Sinar Jaya, Bianglala, Ramayana, Jaka<br>\nKendil, Handoyo, Tasima S., Gumarang Jaya, Mulyo Indah, Limas<br>\nExpress and Setia Bhakti.<\/p>\n<p>This week, six other bus companies, including state-owned<br>\ntransportation companies PPD and Damri, were found to have<br>\nviolated transport regulations during the Idul Fitri exodus.<br>\n(ste)<\/p>",
