        "content": "<p>The Haji Affairs Office at the Consulate General of the Republic of\nIndonesia (KJRI) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has reported that 17,447\nIndonesian umrah pilgrims have been repatriated to Indonesia amid the\nescalation of the Iran-Israel-United States conflict. M. Ilham Effendy,\nTechnical Staff for Hajj at the Jeddah Haji Affairs Office, stated that\nthe office will oversee and assist the return of Indonesian umrah\npilgrims at King Abdulaziz International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also continuing to register pilgrims whose return has been\ndelayed and coordinating with travel agencies and relevant authorities\nso that the repatriation process can be completed promptly,\u201d said Ilham\nin an official statement from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, reported\non Monday, 9 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to data from the Airport Task Force as of 7 March 2026 at\n23:00 local time, 341 pilgrims from various umrah travel organisers were\nstill awaiting confirmation of their departure schedules. These pilgrims\nare temporarily staying at several hotels in Jeddah and Mecca.<\/p>\n<p>The repatriation process is continuing through several airlines,\nincluding Saudi Airlines (Saudia), Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air, and\nIndiGo. A total of 1,665 pilgrims were scheduled to return to Indonesia\nvia several flights from Jeddah Airport on the same date.<\/p>\n<p>The Jeddah Haji Affairs Office has also provided assistance to 33\npilgrims from one travel agency based in Mecca, who are also staying in\nhotels whilst awaiting confirmation of their departure. The Jeddah Haji\nAffairs Office is currently working with travel agencies and Saudi\nArabian authorities to ensure that the pilgrims are repatriated without\nincurring additional costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continue to seek the best solutions through intensive\ncoordination with various parties, so that pilgrims can return to\nIndonesia safely and comfortably,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak previously\nissued a call for umrah pilgrims to postpone their departure schedules\nto the Holy Land and wait until conditions become more conducive. This\nmeasure represents the government\u2019s caution in ensuring the safety of\nits citizens. The government is closely monitoring developments in the\nsecurity situation in the Middle East, which is becoming increasingly\ndynamic and uncertain.<\/p>",
