        "content": "<p>1.6m euro offered for NGOs<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The European Commission revealed on Friday that it<br>\nhad provided 1.6 million euros to non-governmental organizations<br>\n(NGOs) wishing to carry out micro projects on democracy and human<br>\nrights in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>European Commission delegation head in Indonesia Sabato Della<br>\nMonica said the projects were aimed at promoting human rights,<br>\ndemocracy and conflict prevention.<\/p>\n<p>He said any NGOs were invited to propose projects, which<br>\nshould focus on one of three themes: strengthening the rule of<br>\nlaw and legal system, conflict prevention and resolution, and<br>\nfreedom of expression and independent media.<\/p>\n<p>The projects should respect equal opportunity, gender and<br>\nrepresentation of minority, the commission said.<\/p>\n<p>Each NGO will receive between 50,000 euro and 10,000 euro for<br>\neach projects approved by the commission.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will close on Feb. 16 next year.
