        "content": "<p>Jakarta, VIVA \u2013 The case of alleged sexual harassment implicating 16\nstudents from the Faculty of Law at the University of Indonesia (FH UI)\nhas entered a new phase. Metro Jaya Regional Police have begun gathering\nevidence and opening communications with the campus authorities,\nfollowing the emergence of allegations of improper activities in a group\nchat. Although no police report has been received yet, the authorities\nhave assured that they will not remain idle. The relevant directorate\nhas already taken initial steps to investigate the alleged violations.\nHead of Public Relations Division of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Police\nCommissioner Budi Hermanto, stated, \u201cThe PPA and PPO Directorates have\ncollected several pieces of evidence, prepared information reports\nrelated to coordination with the university, so we from Metro Jaya\nRegional Police will certainly open avenues for this incident,\u201d he told\nreporters on Thursday, 16 April 2026. The police are also taking a\nproactive approach by directly coordinating with the University of\nIndonesia, while awaiting any potential official reports from victims.\n\u201cAs of today, Metro Jaya Regional Police has not officially received a\npolice report. However, the steps taken by Metro Jaya Regional Police,\nparticularly the PPA and PPO Directorates, have already coordinated with\nthe relevant university,\u201d he said. Amid this process, the police are\nalso focusing on victim protection. Coordination with legal advisors is\nbeing conducted to ensure victims receive proper support. \u201cBut we will\nalso institutionally respect that the campus or university is taking\ninternal steps and stages.
