        "content": "<p>142 violators apprehended<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): A total of 142 people have been apprehended in<br>\n10 subdistricts in South Jakarta during a law and order operation<br>\nwhich was launched this month.<\/p>\n<p>South Jakarta Mayor Pardjoko announced that most of the<br>\nviolators were street vendors operating along pavements of major<br>\nstreets in the mayoralty.<\/p>\n<p>The violators were sent to court and fined between Rp 2.500<br>\nand Rp 30,000 by Judge Rasyid Nur. The total fines during Jan. 1<br>\nto 19 reached Rp 848,000.<\/p>\n<p>Pardjoko said that the operation, code-named Operasi Yustisi,<br>\nis useful in forcing South Jakarta residents to obey the existing<br>\nlaws on public order and sanitation.<\/p>\n<p>He said that during the same operation between November and<br>\nDecember last year, 1,829 violators were apprehended and a total<br>\namount of Rp 11 million in fines were charged.
