        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 A total of 13,306 of 14,132 potholes on national roads in\nEast Java Province have been addressed, with all repairs targeted for\ncompletion by 10 days before Eid 2026 to ensure smooth traffic flow\nduring the holiday exodus.<\/p>\n<p>Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo conducted a direct inspection of\nnational road network preparedness in East Java to confirm readiness and\nsafety for the 2026 Eid travel season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll national road repairs must be completed by 10 days before Eid.\nWe must ensure national roads in East Java are in safe and comfortable\ncondition for the public, especially two-wheeled vehicle riders,\u201d\nHanggodo stated according to an official statement on Monday (2 March\n2026).<\/p>\n<p>Road marking work is also being accelerated to enhance safety and\ncomfort for road users ahead of the holiday travel period.<\/p>\n<p>The total length of national roads in East Java reaches 2,261.68\nkilometres distributed across 358 segments and supported by 973 bridges\nwith a combined length of 34,807.36 metres.<\/p>\n<p>In general, the majority of segments are in good to fair condition\nwith a stability rate above 80 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Hanggodo emphasised that all repair work must be completed before the\nholiday travel season begins.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to pothole repairs, road quality strengthening is being\ncarried out to maintain optimal stability throughout the Eid period.<\/p>\n<p>The East Java-Bali Regional Road Centre has identified several\ncongestion and traffic accident-prone locations, including the\nBangkalan-Sampang boundary segment and the Alas Baluran area in\nBanyuwangi.<\/p>\n<p>At these locations, enhanced surveillance has been implemented,\nwarning signs have been added, and intensive coordination conducted with\npolice and relevant agencies to maintain traffic flow and road user\nsafety.<\/p>\n<p>Personnel and equipment have been mobilised to ensure rapid response\nin case of disruptions caused by extreme weather.<\/p>\n<p>The East Java-Bali Regional Road Centre is also establishing Eid\ntravel command posts at various East Java regional units as unified\nmonitoring and coordination centres.<\/p>\n<p>With infrastructure, personnel, and equipment prepared, the Public\nWorks Ministry ensures public connectivity and travel safety are\nmaintained throughout the Eid period.<\/p>",
