        "content": "<p>The Judicial Commission (KY) is holding a quality selection for\ncandidates for Supreme Court justices and candidates for ad hoc human\nrights (HAM) and corruption (Tipikor) justices at the Supreme Court (MA)\nfor 2026 over two days, Tuesday-Wednesday, 5 and 6 May 2026, in\nJakarta.<\/p>\n<p>KY member and Chair of the Judge Recruitment Division, Andi Muhammad\nAsrun, stated that one candidate for Supreme Court justice from the\nCivil Chamber, one from the Criminal Chamber, two HAM ad hoc justice\ncandidates at the MA, and three Tipikor ad hoc justice candidates at the\nMA have withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, the total participants in the quality selection for Supreme\nCourt justices number 137, with 18 HAM ad hoc justice candidates at the\nMA and 58 Tipikor ad hoc justice candidates at the MA.<\/p>\n<p>The breakdown for the 137 Supreme Court justice candidates consists\nof 64 from the Criminal Chamber, 27 from the Civil Chamber, 35 from the\nReligious Chamber, and 11 from the State Administrative (TUN) Chamber,\nspecifically tax.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis quality selection comprehensively measures mastery of\nknowledge, judicial technical abilities, and depth of understanding of\ncandidates in the legal field according to the chamber formation they\nare applying for,\u201d said Asrun, as quoted from the official Judicial\nCommission website on Tuesday (5\/5).<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, KY Chair Abdul Chair Ramadhan hopes that the entire\nselection series will produce Supreme Court justice candidates and ad\nhoc justices at the MA who possess integrity, capacity, and\ncapability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that the entire selection series organised here can produce\njustice candidates who are not only excellent in knowledge and judicial\ntechniques but also have resilient and commendable character, good\nintegrity, strong personality, and high commitment to upholding the law\nand justice,\u201d Abdul stated.<\/p>\n<p>On the first day of the quality selection, candidates will undergo\nobjective tests and writing assignments.<\/p>\n<p>On the second day, candidates will be tested on their ability to\nresolve legal cases and study the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for\nJudge Behaviour (KEPPH).<\/p>\n<p>This selection also includes evaluation of professional works\nspecifically for Supreme Court justice candidates submitted after\npassing the administrative stage.<\/p>\n<p>The selection process is conducted in accordance with the MA\u2019s\nrequest to fill 11 vacant justice positions, consisting of two from the\nCivil Chamber, four from the Criminal Chamber, two from the Religious\nChamber, three from the State Administrative Chamber, specifically tax,\nas well as two HAM ad hoc justices at the MA and one Tipikor ad hoc\njustice at the MA.<\/p>\n<p>KY, explained Abdul, is opening opportunities for public\nparticipation to provide information or opinions regarding the track\nrecords of the Supreme Court justice candidates, such as integrity,\ncapacity, behaviour, and character of the Supreme Court justice\ncandidates and ad hoc justice candidates at the MA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public with clear identities is expected to provide written\ninformation or opinions about the track records (integrity, capacity,\nbehaviour, and character) of Supreme Court justice candidates and ad hoc\njustice candidates at the MA for 2026 no later than 5 June 2026, to the\nemail address: [email protected] or the KY Office at Jalan Kramat Raya\nNo.\u00a057, Central Jakarta,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>",
