Adenan has said 135 cults in the area were banned last year.<\/p>\n<p>Adenan told Antara Wednesday the teachings disseminated and<br>\napplied by the sects conflicted with accepted religious<br>\npractices. He said the sects frequently offended and adulterated<br>\nreligious beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>He cited the Ahmadiyah Qadian sect which taught that Ahmadi<br>\nwas the last Islamic prophet instead of Muhammad. The teaching<br>\nand its literature could disturb the public, Adenan said.<\/p>\n<p>He also cited the teachings of the Ratu Adil Imam Mahdi and<br>\nMayo sects which conflicted with Islamic faith. The latter stated<br>\nthat Adam's grave was located on Gedugan mountain, in Cililin<br>\ndistrict of Bandung, Adenan said.<\/p>\n<p>He said 63 other sects were currently flourishing in West<br>\nJava, none of which have been proven to upset or mislead the<br>\npublic.
