13 killed in road accidents<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Thirteen people have been killed and more than 30
\nothers injured in bus accidents in Lampung and Southeast
\nSulawesi.<\/p>\n
In Lampung, eight people were killed, two seriously injured,
\nfour slightly hurt and three missing when the bus they were
\ntraveling in plunged into a river Tuesday, a Press report said
\nyesterday.<\/p>\n
The accident happened Tuesday morning when the bus carrying at
\nleast 17 people plunged into the Sungkai Negara Ratu River in
\nnorthern Lampung after the bridge it was crossing collapsed.<\/p>\n
Antara, quoting an official of the northern Lampung office of
\ntransportation, said that the exact number of people on board the
\nbus was not known.<\/p>\n
The latest body found yesterday was that of a 24 year-old
\nwoman, which was adrift 30 meters from the site of accident.<\/p>\n
In Southeast Sulawesi, an accident happened near Bau-bau
\nyesterday when a packed bus skidded into a ravine. Five people
\nwere killed and 33 others were injured.<\/p>\n
The police said the accident happened because the bus driver
\nlost control of the speeding bus on a winding road. (pan)<\/p>",
