12 Jakarta youths dead in Bogor<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): At least 12 students of two maritime high
\nschools (SPM) in Jakarta were found dead in Cisadane River in
\nBogor on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Local police said the students were among 200 students of SPM
\nBaruna and SPM Aditama in Jakarta, who arrived in Bogor -- 40
\nkilometers to the south of here -- a day earlier and were
\ninvolved in a fierce street brawl with local students of
\nPenerbangan technical high school (STM Penerbangan) on Jl.
\nSemeru.<\/p>\n
No fatalities were recorded during Saturday's fight.<\/p>\n
The visiting students, who police said had plotted the attack
\nfor revenge, sprinted to different directions when local
\nresidents rushed to the scene to disperse the teenagers.<\/p>\n
It was believed that at this time some of the boys, who were
\nunfamiliar with the area, jumped into the river after seeking
\nrefuge on a nearby golf course.<\/p>\n
Local police and residents had no idea about the fate of the
\nboys until a villager found a body floating on the river on
\nSunday.<\/p>\n
Two of the victims have yet to be identified.<\/p>\n
Antara identified 10 of the dead boys -- all still in their
\nschool uniforms and aged between 16 and 19 -- as Marzuki,
\nAbdurahman Fauzi, Iwan Firmansyah, Agus Pranoto, Rizal, Triyono,
\nM. Makasau, Chaerul Anwar, Agus Rusmana and Abdul Halim.<\/p>\n
Their bodies are being kept at Bogor's Red Cross Hospital,
\nwaiting to be claimed by relatives. (bsr)<\/p>",
