        "content": "<p>110 couples get divorced in a month<\/p>\n<p>BOGOR: The Cibinong Religious Court in Bogor handles an<br>\naverage of 110 divorce cases in a month.<\/p>\n<p>The court's jurisdiction covers Bogor and Depok, which has a<br>\npopulation of 4.5 million.<\/p>\n<p>The court chief, HM Nadjmi, says that the number of divorces<br>\nin Bogor is low compared with several areas in West Java.<\/p>\n<p>In Subang, which has 1.8 million people, there are 200 divorce<br>\ncases per month, while in Indramayu, there are between 600 and<br>\n1,000 divorce cases handled by the local religious court -- even<br>\nthough the population is only 600,000.<\/p>\n<p>Nadjmi said that, in 70 percent of the divorce cases, the<br>\nhusbands were to blame.<\/p>\n<p>In most cases, the husbands abandoned their families.<\/p>\n<p>He said that everyone who asked for a divorce had to pay Rp<br>\n260,000, which included fees to summon witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>Those who are poor may have a court-appointed lawyer for a fee<br>\nof Rp 15,000.--JP<\/p>",
