11 more arrested over brawl in Magelang<\/p>\n
MAGELANG, Central Java: Magelang Police Precinct have arrested
\n11 more suspects over a recent brawl in the Magelang subdistrict
\nof Banjaragung, making the total number arrested over the
\nincident 15, an official said.<\/p>\n
The 15 suspects were charged with assault, violating Article
\n170 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of
\nfive years in jail.<\/p>\n
One of the suspects, ES, was charged with the possession of a
\nweapon, violating Law. 30\/1951, which carries a maximum sentence
\nof life in prison.<\/p>\n
The brawl erupted on Sunday after two youths, Rois Kurniawan
\nfrom Marjoyo hamlet in Banjaragung and Wahyono from Punduhan
\nhamlet in Sambakan subdistrict, became involved in an argument.<\/p>\n
Magelang Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Agus Sofyan Abadi said
\nthat Rois became jealous when Wahyono escorted his girlfriend
\nhome.<\/p>\n
Rois mobilized his friends and as a result, some 15 youths
\ndescended on Punduhan and attacked Wahyono and his friends, who
\nwere chatting somewhere in Punduhan hamlet in Sambakan
\nsubdistrict here.<\/p>\n
Four were injured in the attack, namely, Wahyudi, 25, Wahyono,
\n23, Sutoyo, 27 and Nugroho, 18. They are being treated at Tidar
\nHospital in Magelang.<\/p>\n
Some 200 residents of Sambakan flocked to Marjoyo hamlet to
\nhunt for Rois. After failing to find him, they destroyed several
\nhouses in the area.<\/p>\n
