11 countries study dry farming program<\/p>\n
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: Participants from 11 Asian and
\nAfrican countries met in rural East Nusa Tenggara for two days
\nthis week to learn about the province's dry farming methods.<\/p>\n
The training, from Sunday to Monday, was held in Nakfunu
\nvillage, Timor Tengah Selatan regency.<\/p>\n
Team coordinator, Huni Thamrin, said the province, which had a
\nlong dry season, was similar to other dry spots in developing
\ncountries.<\/p>\n
\"We hope the participants could learn our concepts and
\nimplement them in their home countries,\" Husni said on Monday
\nafter meeting East Nusa Tenggara Governor Piet A. Tallo.<\/p>\n
The training seminar, organized by the Center for Economic and
\nSocial Studies (CESS) and Japan's International Cooperation
\nAgency Indonesia office. The group also witnessed programs
\ndesigned to increase rural women and their families' welfare.<\/p>\n
The participants were Chin Yok of Cambodia; Noel Disawo of
\nPapua New Guinea; Gahaffor of Afghanistan;, Perkins Francis Duri
\nof Zimbabwe; Inacia Das Flores Faria of Timor Leste; U Win Ko of
\nMyanmar; Bounthasin Chitvilaphon of Laos; Richard Oraro of Kenya;
\nNguyen Ba Long of Vietnam; Denis Rwehabura Mbekenge of
