        "content": "<p>108 students receive scholarships<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Over 100 elementary students in Bekasi have received<br>\nscholarships from Lippo Cikarang as part of the company's<br>\ncommunity service in the area.<\/p>\n<p>The students from eight state elementary schools in five<br>\nvillages surrounding Lippo Cikarang were awarded the scholarships<br>\nfor the 2001\/2002 school year, head of the company's public<br>\nrelations department, Jeanny L. Wullur, said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Each of the 108 students received a total of Rp 120,000 to pay<br>\nfor annual school fees, uniforms, books and stationery, she<br>\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarships were officially handed over to<br>\nrepresentatives of the students by Bekasi regent Wikanda<br>\nDarmawijaya on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>According to government regulations, state schools are free<br>\nbut, in reality, students have to make payments to cover various<br>\nneeds, such as building maintenance and extra-curricular<br>\nactivities. -- JP<\/p>",
