10 vehicles involved in pileups<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: A total of 10 vehicles were involved in two pileups
\nalong the Tangerang toll road during Monday morning rush hours.
\nHowever, a member of staff of toll road operator PT Jasa Marga,
\nArifudin, confirmed there were no casualties.<\/p>\n
The first accident took place at 7:30 a.m. on the Jakarta-
\nTangerang toll road in West Jakarta, five kilometers from the
\nTomang intersection. Six vehicles -- a Daihatsu Espass, a Sedan,
\ntwo Toyota Kijangs, a minivan, a truck -- were heading to
\nTangerang when they collided.<\/p>\n
The second accident, which took place at 9:25 a.m., was caused
\nwhen a truck's brakes failed on the same section of the tollroad,
\nbut heading to Jakarta. The truck caused a pileup involving three
\nother vehicles; a Hyundai sedan, a Toyota Starlet and a Toyota
\nKijang.<\/p>\n
The accident caused extensive congestion on both sides of the
\nroad, especially traffic traveling from the Tangerang direction,
\nin which the queue of vehicles stretched for more than three
