        "content": "<p>The head of the North Java Coast Management Authority (BOPPJ) and\nDeputy Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (Wamen KP), Didit H\nAshaf, has emphasised that the Giant Sea Wall (GSW) project in Java\u2019s\nNorth Coast will not intervene in the land areas of the Batang region.\nThis includes the plan to open up 4,000 hectares of new land in Batang\nIndustropolis. \u201cWe are not intervening on land. We are carrying out\nactivities at sea. For Batang, no intervention is being done,\u201d Didit\nsaid after the Kick-Off Meeting for Integrated North Java Coast Shore\nProtection Infrastructure in Jakarta on Monday (4\/5\/2026). \u201cSo, we will\nconnect the sea wall on the left side of Batang with the Batang toll\nroad. Because Batang already has an economic zone and industrial area,\u201d\nhe added. According to Didit, Batang\u2019s topography differs from other\nareas along Java\u2019s North Coast that experience significant land\nsubsidence.
