Minister Abdul Mu\u2019ti said educational activities were continuing,\neither through in-person classes held in makeshift classrooms or via\ndistance learning.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe progress of post-earthquake education facility recovery in NTT\nhas shown positive results. Some 1,931 educational facilities serving\n171,476 students have resumed their classes to date,\u201d Mu\u2019ti stated here\non Saturday.<\/p>\n
He explained that some 1,504 schools conduct their classes in\nmakeshift classrooms, while 392 schools conduct distance learning, and\n35 educational facilities had resumed in-person classes normally at\nschool.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Mu\u2019ti said the ministry had distributed 100 large tents\nfor makeshift classrooms to regions affected by the earthquake as of\nSeptember 3, with 28 of them dispatched to Manggarai District and 27 to\nEast Manggarai District.<\/p>\n
The ministry further provided 9,500 reading books and 9,500\nchildren\u2019s souvenirs, 5,500 school kit packages, 1,500 family kits, and\n500 basic food packages to families in affected districts.<\/p>\n
Financial assistance amounting to Rp1.1 billion had also been\ndisbursed for clearing the debris in schools suffering major damage due\nto the earthquake, he added.<\/p>\n
Mu\u2019ti said the ministry will ensure a smooth transition and recovery\nthrough the provision of more emergency classrooms, psychosocial\nservices for children, sanitation facility reconstruction, and safety\nassessments on school buildings.<\/p>\n
The ministry targets the provision of a total of 3,763 units of\nemergency classrooms and improves the condition at 1,504 schools that\nare still relying on makeshift facilities.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the hard work and participation of all parties, we hope that\nthe recovery of all educational facilities affected by the earthquake in\nNTT will proceed smoothly and swiftly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cEducational facilities must be restored to help rebuild joy and hope\nfor local children as they work toward a better future,\u201d Mu\u2019ti\nadded.<\/p>\n
