        "content": "<p>As many as 1.8 million vehicles crossed the Cikopo-Palimanan Toll\nRoad (Cipali Toll) during the implementation of the Eid homecoming and\nreturn traffic in 2026. \u201cThe total is around 1.8 million vehicles that\npassed through the Cipali Toll section during the 2026 Eid holiday,\u201d\nsaid Astra Tol Cipali\u2019s Operations Director Novianto Dwi Wibowo on\nTuesday, 31 March 2026. Novianto continued that the figure counts from\n13 March to 29 March 2026, or from H-8 to H+7 of Eid 2026. The peak\nhomecoming traffic on the Cipali Toll occurred on Wednesday, 18 March\n2026, with around 141,000 vehicles passing through. The peak return\ntraffic happened on H+2 Eid, or Tuesday, 24 March 2026, with 135,000\nvehicles passing through. To ensure smooth traffic flow, following\npolice discretion, traffic engineering in the form of one-way operation\nwas implemented on the Cipali Toll section for homecoming traffic from\n17 March to 20 March 2026 and for return traffic on 23 March to 25 March\n2026. One-way operation was then repeated for the return traffic period\nfrom 27 March to 29 March 2026, as well as contraflow at KM 169-162 on\n26 March 2026. In support of the government\u2019s efforts to distribute\ntraffic volume, Cipali Toll also applied a 30 percent toll discount on\n18-19 and 26-27 March 2026. The toll discount was positively received by\nhomecomers. \u201cIn addition, a situational open-close system was\nimplemented at all rest areas during the homecoming and return Eid\ntraffic,\u201d said Novianto. Previously, Novianto added, Astra Tol Cipali\nhad also improved services at rest areas, starting from adding parking\nand toilet capacity, preparing fuel stations and EV charging stations,\nadding tow truck fleets, and preparing patrol services, ambulances,\nrescue, to a 24-hour active call centre to serve road users.\nFurthermore, to support the government\u2019s \u201cMudik Minim Sampah\u201d programme,\nAstra Tol Cipali increased the capacity for waste sorting and processing\nat every rest area, so that the 2026 homecoming and return Eid\nactivities would not have a negative environmental impact. \u201cDuring\nhomecoming, socialisation of waste sorting was also carried out for road\nusers resting at rest areas,\u201d said Novianto.
