The suspect faces multiple charges including forgery, embezzlement, receiving stolen goods, money laundering, and violations of fiduciary guarantee and personal data protection laws, highlighting significant issues in vehicle trafficking and legal compliance.

Jakarta - Police seized 1,494 motorcycles from an illegal storage
warehouse on Jalan Kemandoran VIII, Grogol Utara, Kebayoran Lama, South
Jakarta.

The Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Senior
Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the motorcycles were intended
for illegal sale abroad.

“These vehicles were collected and prepared for smuggling out of the
country without valid ownership documents,” Budi said during a press
conference at the location on Monday (11/5/2026).

Further, the Director of General Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya
Police, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanudin, explained that the
motorcycles were obtained by the receiver using other people’s
identities.

This is because, upon inspection, the director of PT Indobike 26, as
the receiver, could not prove ownership of the thousands of
motorcycles.

“The suspect also could not show proof of motor vehicle ownership
attached to the vehicles, the fiduciary lien,” Iman said on the same
occasion.

Of the thousands of motorcycles seized, 150 were registered with
identities.

Police are still investigating the origin of the motorcycles, both
legal and illegal, such as fraud, forgery, and the use of personal
data.

“From our examination so far, there are about 150 vehicles that have
names on them. However, we have not found evidence of ownership of those
motor vehicles,” Iman said.

A total of 99,000 motorcycles have been distributed abroad, with
profits of Rp26 billion.

Conversely, the state has suffered losses of up to Rp177 billion due
to the loss of potential state tax revenue and export customs duties for
the exported goods.

This is because the thousands of motorcycles are suspected to have
been obtained from the crime of diverting fiduciary collateral objects
without the written approval of the fiduciary recipient.

The suspect is charged under Article 391 of the Criminal Code on
forgery, Article 486 on embezzlement, Article 591 on receiving stolen
goods, and Article 607 on money laundering offences (TPPU).

WS is also charged under Articles 35 and 36 of Law No. 42 of 1999 on
Fiduciary Guarantees, as well as Articles 65 Paragraph (2) and 67
Paragraph (2) of Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection.
",
