Police build costly hospital in Papua

JAYAPURA, Papua: The National Police have built a hospital in Jayapura, Papua, at a cost of Rp 18 billion (US$2.2 million). The hospital was inaugurated by Papua Police chief Insp. Gen. Timbul Silaen on Wednesday.

Some Rp 16 billion of the money was allocated out of the National Police's budget, and the remaining Rp 2.3 billion by the Papua administration.

The hospital, named the Bhayangkara Hospital, features an operating theater, a polyclinic, radiology unit, detention cells, a morgue, treatment wards and integrated facilities for victims of child and domestic abuse. --JP
