Damita Jo (album)

Artist : Janet Jackson Album : Damita Jo (EMI Music)

After some moaning and groaning and all the talk about wrapping around, going up and down, doing it, coming, juice and moist, Janet Jackson giggles and says, "Relax, it's just sex".

Yes, Janet, relax, it's just sex. So why on earth do you have to still make a big deal out of it after a decade?

If Janet is looking to come off steamy, unfortunately it seems she is running out of the hot stuff.

Reuniting with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, the duo behind her 1986 album Control, the album actually features some good songs, with crisp and polished beats, and even rattling tablas on Sexhibition.

Eventually, however, it all gets monotonous, especially the ballads.

Damita Jo is Jackson's middle name, and strangely, she wants to portray the innocent side of her -- "I love the sand, I love the palm trees" -- which is surely overshadowed by sexuality.

Actually, sex overshadows everything on this album. But instead of an orgasmic thrill, it turns out nauseating.
