Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Head of the Investment Coordinating Agency (BKPM) Gita Wirjawan said the tax holiday given by the government to investors is expected to be finished before the end of this year.

"It is enough to give the tax holiday in one or two quarters to enable the investors to boost their investment to reach the Rp 10,000 trillion target, which would be quite an achievement," he said in Jakarta Sunday.

He said discussion had been held with the other economic ministers including the finance minister with regard to tax holidays for foreign investors.

Gita also said that in a not too distant future the economic ministers will again discuss follow up to the agreed tax holiday concept for realization in the form of a policy.

Gita wished that the tax facility be applied only to investors who need to come to Indonesias for government-prioritized sectors and for the eastern regions for promotion purposes. (*)
