Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The head of the Investment Coordinating Agency, Gita Wiryawan, is planning to meet US investor Warren Buffet and invite the latter to invest US$1 billion in Indonesia.
"I want to ask him (Warren Buffet) to invest only US$1 billion in Indonesia," Gita said on the sidelines of an investor summit here Thursday, adding that he would meet Buffet next year.
Gita said he was offered to meet Buffet several years ago but at the time he thought promoting Indonesia then was futile because the country was still in unstable conditions.
"I believe I will meet Buffet next year when I will try to persuade him to expand his business to Indonesia," he said.
Gita would talk with Buffet, among other things, on the government`s plan to enact a law on land clearing to facilitate national and international investments in infrastructure development and mining.
"I hope Buffet will then see very big opportunities for investment in Indonesia," he added.
