TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Indonesian Regional Investment Forum (IRIF) 2006 is promoting 45 projects in regions valued at US$6.55 billion, or Rp59.6 trillion.
The offered projects include those in tourism, ports, markets, horticulture product processing and industrial regions.
“Up until now, twelve provinces have registered,” said Chairman of IRIF 2006 Committee Irman Gusman yesterday (11/1).
Edwin Kawilarang, Deputy Chairman of the IRIF 2006 Committee, said that the forum would not produce any agreements.
The target of the forum was to decrease economic sector decentralization and, in addition, investment permit can be diverted to regions.
So far, investors have been reluctant to enter regions because of unclear regulations.
