TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is asking that the implementation of the infrastructure project be accelerated. This not only covers the projects that will be offered at the Second Infrastructure Summit this coming November, but also includes all sectors.
The statement was delivered by the President to both Paskah Suzetta, the State Minister of National Development Planning and National Development Planning Board Chairman , and Boediono, the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Chairman of the Policies Committee for Preparing Infrastructure Acceleration.
“The President has specifically asked me and Boediono to be focused in building the infrastructure, especially the electricity sector,” said Paskah after a restricted meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta yesterday (25/9). The meeting was also attended by Boediono, Widodo A.S., the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Aburizal Bakrie.
The President, said Paskah, has seen that Indonesia's macroeconomics is improving so that it may boost economic growth faster. However, the President has asked that the project apply international standards (international best practice), for instance, for the tender process.
