TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The National Police will establish a Bureaucracy Reform Secretariat.

This will be in the national police follow-up plan in 2010.

“Later, the secretariat will be available from the central to the regional levels,” said Inspector general Imam Soejarwo, Head of the Police Bureaucracy Reform, in a public discussion on 2010 National Police Reform in Cikini, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (16/2).

Imam said that even though police members have a high understanding of bureaucracy reform, its application in the field is still low.

“We wanted it to be balanced,” he said.

According to Imam, the secretariat will be established according to the police organization restructuring design.

They will also continue socialization to change thinking patterns and public opinion about the police

According to police data, the public satisfaction level regarding police services reached 54.3 percent.

This data was obtained from 1,800 members of the public in 14 regions.

Imam continued that as long there was bureaucracy in the country, “Bureaucracy reform in the Police will not stop.”
