The 32nd Annual IPA Convention

Once again, it’s time for the IPA Annual Convention, held in Jakarta almost every year since 1972. Remarkably, this May 27-29 will see us host the 32nd Convention, which has grown in size these past few years, along with the increasingly popular industry exhibition. This year’s theme is “Meeting Energy Challenges through Cooperation”

Among the main features this year will be the exhibition, always a favourite with now over 100 exhibition booths - all the large suppliers, operators and employers in the industry will be there.

This year’s Technical Sessions are improved too. International and regional contributions are running at a high level, as the IPA Convention attracts a wider audience. There will now be five parallel Oral Sessions totalling over 100 presentations, as well as a prominent Poster Display. Papers will feature a much wider range of oil industry professions – as well as sessions for engineers and geoscientists, there are contributions on projects, drilling, human resources, HSE, community development, commercial and finance. We have also reserved a full Plenary Session on Corporate Social Responsibility. Thus, we can truly say this year there will be "something for everybody".

The event will be officially opened by the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. To follow, IPA Convention offers four Short Courses, two Plenary Sessions featuring major industry figures, a Cocktail Party after closing on Weds May 28, the ever-popular Golf Tournament at Emeralda Golf and Country Club and this year the re-introduction of the fabulous Gala Dinner on Tues May 27.

For the socially inclined, there is always a host of unofficial gatherings and sponsors’ events to keep you active. IPA is quite simply the best networking opportunity you’ll have all year. While if your company is interested in taking one of the remaining highly sought-after exhibition booths, you should go here.
