TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The government will give priority to create conditions that will prevent people from carrying out corruption. This is intended as a preemptive move towards bureaucratic reforms, said State Minister for Administrative Reforms E.E. Mangindaan, following a meeting at the Vice Presidential Office yesterday.

The result of a business survey released by the Political & Economic Risk Consultancy or PERC cited Indonesia was on top of the list of the most corrupted countries, scoring 9,07 out of a total 10. Indonesia is the most corrupt country among 16 investment destination countries in the Asia Pacific. The survey involving 2.174 intermediate and senior executives in Asia, Australia, and the United States studied how corruption has made an impact in some levels of political leaders, the local police and main government agencies.

Mangindaan also said if bureaucratic reforms go well, there would be a significant reduction in breaches and violations.
