Nanning, China (ANTARA News) - Transportation Minister Jusman Syafii Djamal here on Monday invited Chinese businessmen to invest in Indonesia.

"I invite you (Chinese businessmen) to invest in Indonesia. There are still many investment opportunities and natural resources that can be developed in Indonesia," he said when opening a seminar on trade and investment opportunities in Indonesia at the Fourth China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) here on Monday.

Opened on Sunday, the expo will run until October 31.

The minister said the sectors open for investment were not only ports but also plantations, trade, industry and services.

The Indonesian government, he said, had done its utmost to issue laws and regulation on investment attractive to investors.

He said the Indonesian government would also give protection and support to foreign investors, including those from China.

Meanwhile, National Agency for Export Development (NAFED) head Bachrul Chairi said to improve the investment climate the Indonesian government had made many changes to its law and regulations on investment, taxation, immigration and trade.

He said the government had also improved the coordinating authorities in the financial and monetary fields to facilitate investment. (*_
