Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA News) - Many Japanese investors have delayed their plans to invest in East Java as a consequence of the global economic crisis, a capital investment official said.
"As a result of the global economic crisis which hit Japan, many investors from that country have delayed the implementation of their plans to invest in East Java," Harry Soegiri, East Java Regional Investment Coordinating Board chief, said here on Saturday.
He said at least 45 foreign investment projects in East Java had been approved by the Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BPKM).
"Because of the economic crisis, the foreign investors are unlikely to realized their investment plans before the end of 2009," he said.(*)
