Indonesia September motorcycle sales rise to 494,111
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Industry-wide motorcycle sales rose to 494,115 in September from 440,288 in August, according to a report compiled by the Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI).
The September sales were the strongest for any month since Sept last year, when they came in at 452,876.
The country's largest motorcycle dealer, PT Astra International, which only sells Hondas, saw its market share rise to 56 pct in September from 55 pct in August, AISI was quoted by XFN-Asia as saying.
It said Astra sold 276,384 motorcycles in September against 241,416 in August and 237,039 in September last year.
PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing had sales of 143,566 against 136,837 units in August and 101,159 the year before while PT Indomobil Suzuki International recorded sales of 67,556 bikes, compared to 56,180 in August and 102.252 the year earlier. (*)
