"In other countries, the percentage never reaches above five percent"

VIVAnews - The costs for logistics in Indonesia are apparently higher compared to other countries. However, the efforts to reduce the amount have yet to be carried out by the government.

Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Entrepreneurs (Apindo), Sofyan Wanandi, claimed that Indonesia has the highest tariff on logistics in Southeast Asia. Taking into account total cost per unit, Indonesia applies around 10 to 15 percent of tariff higher.

"In other countries, the percentage never reaches above five percent," said Sofyan today, Oct 4.

Apindo expects that the government can focus on alleviating costs in Indonesia.

"Oftentimes, the implementation is not always as it's been expected," he said.

According to Sofyan, the government does not cooperate well. "The theory looks promising. But, at times, the implementation fails," he said.
