TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Industry Department held a meeting with a business delegate from India on Thursday prior to the opening of India trade exhibition on Friday to discuss the posibility of investment in power plants and textile machinary.

Industry Minister Fahmi Idris said during the meeting with delegates from NICCO Corporation led by Rajive Kaul on Thursday that Indonesia is in lack of textile machinary and that a group of businessmen from the textile industry to visit the country in a bid draw a cooperation plan to develop waving ang spinning machines.

Fahmi also said there were opportunities to cooperate in power plants projects as Indonesia is planning to build power plants to generate around 20,000 megawatt of electricity in 2015.

“Domestic producers were only capable of producing 2 megawatts turbines while the third round power project will need to use 7-100 megawatt turbines,” Fahmi said while adding that the Indian side will arrange more talks on turbines and textile machinaries.
