Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono here on Tuesday, announced that the government had decided not to increase the basic electricity tariff (TDL) and to encourage state electricity company PT PLN to continue serving the public efficiently.

"The cabinet meeting decided not to increase the basic electricity tariff for 2006," the President said at a press conference at his office.

He said the government would discuss its decision further with the House of Representatives related with its various implications as well as to find a way to keep the state budget in a healthy condition.
