Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Chief Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa asked the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to help revitalize the manufacturing industry in the country.
"I hope that we can work together to revitalize the country`s manufacturing industries," the minister said at his office here on Monday.
On the occasion, the chief economic minister also congratulated new Kadin leader Suryo Bambang Sulisto who was elected chairman of the chamber last Saturday.
Hatta said that as a partner of the government, Kadin was expected to contribute more to the national development, particularly the development in the region.
"Ahead, Kadin is expected to contribute more to the national development, particularly the development in the region," he added.
The development in the region is an important issue on how to increase equitable distribution of development, he said.
The minister also said that in the face of global competition and in sizing global opportunities, the government hoped Kadin would be able to play a significant role in government-private partnership programs, especially in the infrastructure sector.
He said the government would maintain its pattern of communications with Kadin which it had done so far.
"We often have meetings with Kadin informally. It usually provides us with inputs on the improvement of investment climate and incentives," the coordinating minister said.(*)
