TEMPO Interactive, Gianyar:The Government in targeting incoming investment of Rp10,000 trillion for the next five years.

Half of the investment is expected to come from the private sector.

“The action plan is Rp10,000 trillion in five years.

Of this, 50 percent will come from the private sector, domestic or foreign companies,” said the Coordinating Minister of Economy, Hatta Rajasa, when presenting working meeting results in Tampaksiring, Bali, on Wednesday (21/04).

Hatta said that investment was expected to reach Rp2,000 trillion per year.

The funds will be used for 15,000 MW of electricity, a 20,000 km road and main harbors expansion.

The funds will also be used to increase train capacity and the construction of double track coal transportation in Sumatra and Kalimantan, starting 2011.

Hatta said he hope with the investment increase that exports would also grow.

The government targets that in 2014 export value could surpass US$200 billion.

Besides that, Hatta continued, the government also plans to decrease the unemployment rate to 5-6 percent by 2014.

To reach this aim, said Hatta, the government will develop infrastructure and small/medium enterprises.

“And also increase the number of migrant workers,” said Hatta.

To eradicate poverty, said Hatta, the government targets a poverty rate of 8-10 percent by 2014.

The government will implement pro-people programs effectively and maximize Education and Health aid for poor people.

The development of micro-, small- and medium-size enterprises (UMKM), People’s Business Credit (KUR) channeling and Corporate Social Responsibility empowerment program could also the options taken by the government to reduce poverty number to 8-10 percent at the end of 2014.

The government, Hatta continued, will target the debt ratio per gross domestic product (GDP) to decrease to 24 percent by 2014 and the tax ratio increase to 14.2 percent from the GDP.

Therefore, said Hatta, tax collection will be optimized.

“And domestic funding will be increased,” he said.

Besides that, the government also target to not have an electricity blackouts after 30 June 2010 in all Indonesia.

“In the short term, we would not have any electricity blackouts from 30 June 2010 at the latest,” he said.
