VIVAnews - Indonesian vice president Boediono said creative industry has grown rapidly within the last few years.

"Creativity never loses its sources. It is a perfect choice to consider creativity as the central pillar of the Indonesian economic progress,"said Boediono in Jakarta today, June 23.

He went on to say that the government has taken various measures in creating ideal climates for advancing the creative industry. "We have already prepared the blueprint and presidential instruction to make possible fine condition for our creative industry," he said.

For the time being, the creative industry has contributed 7.6 percent of the country's GDP, ranging from fashion (43 percent), craft (25 percent), advertising industry (eight percent), design (six percent), and music (six percent).

Trade Minister, Mari Elka Pangestu, said the such a percentage equals to an amount of Rp 151 trillion. The government is targeting that the creative industry may contribute to 8-9 percent by 2015.
