JAKARTA, Nov. 15 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese technical equipment and commodity expo will be held here from Nov. 19 to 22, expected to bolster trade and business ties between China and Indonesia, the organizing committee said in a statement on Sunday.
The upcoming 8th Chinese technical equipment and commodity expo, supported by the Chinese Trade Ministry and Shanghai Commercial Committee, is scheduled to be held in Jakarta International Expo, and it is expected to raise transactions up to 20 million U.S. dollars from 14.56 million U.S. dollars last year, it said.
"Besides bolstering the trade, the exhibition has been an effective business consulting place for Indonesian businessmen and their Chinese counterparts to establish further business cooperation and exchange their business programs," Sha Hailin, deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, was quoted by the Detik.com as saying in his statement.
To accommodate more exhibitors, the organizing committee would provide wider and more spacious exhibition hall up to 3,000 squaremeters, enough to host exhibitors from various businesses that comprise of Electronic and Electrical Measuring Instruments, Paper Machineries, Auto/Moto Parts and Accessories, Folk Arts and Handcrafts Performance and light industry machinery.
Some 57 Chinese firms were ready to exhibit their products in the expo entitled "2009 China Technical Equipment & Commodities". Those firms, among others, are Shanghai Fleety Telecommunications,Ltd, Nanjing Optical Plotting Instrument Co, Ltd, Shanghai Power Pulp & Paper Engineering Co, Ltd, Shanghai Micro Powers Ltd, Shanghai Topsolar Green energy Co, Ltd, Shanghai Jilong Economic Development co, Ltd, Seperti Shanghai Bio-tag Co, Ltd.
5,000 visitors are expected to attend the expo this year, or higher than 4,500 last year, the statement said.
