TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The level of trust and hope of doing business in Indonesia still remain high.

Companies in Indonesia are perceived as trustworthy companies, according to research by Tust Barometer published yesterday (10/2).

According to a Director of Indo Pacific, Aditya Chandra, the technology sector is the most trustworthy sector.

“Some 88 percent of respondents said that technology companies do the right things,” he said.

Another industry that is also appreciated is the banking industry and Aditya mentioned that 82 percent of respondents considered the banking industry reliable.

Other industries also mentioned by respondents were the energy, automotive, and media industries.

Aditya explained that based on the research, respondents want trustworthy companies to operate legally, be transparent, and be accountable.

“They also expect the government to work with the private sector to overcome the global crisis,” he said
