TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, Head of the Aceh-Nias Reconstruction and Rehabilitation (BRR), has said that the BRR has uncovered 32 corruption cases in the development of Aceh following the tsunami disaster.
“We have asked the Commission to Eradicate Corruption (KPK) to investigate this matter,” he told the press after reporting the realization of Aceh funds yesterday (10/5) at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta.
Kuntoro said that the BRR has no authority of carrying out any form of investigation because this is the authority of KPK.
The BRR has in fact received around 500 reports of corruption from members of the general public during the development of Aceh and Nias.
“However, only 32 cases were fully substantiated while the others were not,” he emphasized Kuntoro.
Up to now, the BRR has not yet received any reports of the KPK’s investigation results.
“There has not so far been any incoming report,” said Kuntoro.
