Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Head of the Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Gita Wirjawan, said he did not believe the chaos over the Bank Century case at the House plenary session on Tuesday would affect investment.

"It will not affect investment in general. (As) I have already talked with would-be permanent investors intending to invest for the next five to ten years and not those intending to invest only for six months," he said here on Tuesday.

Gita said he remained optimistic investment climate in Indonesia would remain good and increasing until the next 10 years.

"Since the implementation of a one-stop service the flow of investment applications has been on the increase," he said.

He believed the target of increasing investment by 10 to 15 percent from that of 2009 reaching Rp135 trillion would be met.

Acting general chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Adi Putra Taher viewed the chaos at the parliament on Tuesday a common thing which could also happen abroad.

"It is not an extraordinary incident as it also happens in other countries such as Korea and Taiwan," he said.(*)
