Bio-fuel Development To Receive Fiscal Incentives

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The government will officially form the national team for bio-fuel energy development. The components of this alternative energy team were decided at a limited meeting of the energy sector at the Presidential Palace yesterday (24/7).
Alhilal Hamdi, former Manpower Minister and former People's Welfare Minister, took the position as Executive Chairman of the team for bio-fuel development. “Bio-fuel is not only able to substitute for fuel oil, but also it increases job opportunities and the economy,” said Purnomo Yusgiantoro, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister, yesterday (24/7).
The government will issue a Presidential Decision on bio-fuel development in the next day or two. The government will also explore fiscal incentives in bio-fuel investment, trade and research such as tax holidays, free value-added fax and zero percent export tax as oil palm.
