Banks ready to disburse Yogyakarta reconstruction fund
Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - Some banks in Yogyakarta special province were ready to channel the first batch of reconstruction program fund to Seloharjo village in Pundong subdistrict in Bantul district which was severely hit by earthquake last May 27, an official said.
"The reconstruction fund will be given to 31 groups of people of Pundong, 13 groups of Dlingo subdistrict and nine groups of Jetis subdistrict in a launch that will take place in Seloharjo village on October 5," Yogyakarta administration's information office spokesman Alex Syamsuri said here Tuesday.
Yogyakarta governor who concurrently traditional king Sri Sultan Hamengkubowono X would present the reconstruction fund and bank account to 31 groups of people with a total value of Rp1.473 billion.
"Two banks namely BRI and BPD DIY will be involved in the disbursement of the reconstruction fund for Bantul district," Alex said.
Bank BRI would channel the fund to nine subdistricts while BPD to eight subdistricts.
The May 27's quake killed about five thousands of people, rendered other thousands of people homeless and damaged public facilities including tourism sites in Yogyakarta and Klaten (Central Java province). (*)
